Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 following the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped more music via the Internet including Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it together with Rihanna. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she co-wrote with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was supported by EarthGang. Also, she was featured on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album came out the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. Then, in November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two additional singles were also released by her on November 13 with the titles Pedigree and One. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then released the song in a solo version on her first album. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
